Mike,
>>Actually, I've been on the 6th floor of the building where I expect he'll be working and it's very cool.

>Very cool, indeed. On a clear day (hey, we *do* get them) you get a nice view of the Cascades and Mt. Baker. Too bad we're not on that floor anymore. :-(
John mentioned you've moved to the 3rd floor. Oh well.. As long as Calvin gets what he wants, needs, desires, covets, dreams of, yearns for - all will be well. < bg >
As it happened, the day I was able to visit it was a clear day. Wow..
Kind of like those idyllic Southern Californian days where the weather couldn't be more perfect. Only now you get to share the pleasure with 3,000,000 other folks. <g> When I was 4-5 years old we stayed at my grandad's summer home on Balboa Island. They were dredging the bay and the 'waste' became what is now known as Shark Island - about as procey a piece of real estate that you can get. 2-3 million bucks for a lot.

>The problem is, the closer to campus you are, the more you're going to pay. Though the neighborhood I live in has (for Redmond) some reasonably priced houses and the commute's not bad.
I can imagine. I seem to recall that MSFT has a few corporate houses/apartments that folks may be able to use during transition. Goodness knows they probably own all the homes in that area given their dominance. <g>
Best,
