Very interesting solution. Only question is, what if it's not a "Tab" keystroke? A menu selection or button click can have the same effect.

I know that some people have tried to enter dates as strings, and then convert them. I don't know how successful that is.

Not trying to be a naysayer, but I think we may be stuck with the VFP default behavior here.

>You can capture a tab or enter in the KEYPRESS and look at the TEXT property to see what the user has entered. If you process before any DODEFAULT(), I think you'll get user entry, rather than a reformat based on the control source -- but I haven't tested this.
