> Well this is not directly on target but here goes. I use a PDF print driver from Zeon/DocuComm http://www.pdfwizard.com. It's only $50 per copy instead of Adobe's $250. Using calls to the writer's 'ini' file I have been abel to use it as a way to email reports directly out of my VFP6 (I don't know about VFP5's ability to do it) applications. Our company is very happy with it. I don't know if the character issue for you is solved with it but if you go to the web site you can down load a demo & try it.

I downloaded a free pdfwriter from www.ctrlp.com at it works well with vfp.
So I don't see need by buy any pdf writer.
There is also a open source ghostscript program which creates pdf files
also.
