I didn't think it was a big jump either...but it was for most developers. However, many of the developers who made the transition to VFP still don't properly use OOP. I remember when Clipper 5.0 came out and people started explaining OOP. The thing that sticks out in my mind the most was Dirk Lesko saying "take everything you know about application development and turn it 180 degrees".
