Re reasons for rumour: lets not forget that even MS's own employees help the rumours along. As recently as last month there was a thread where a horrified developer reported being told by his MS contact that VFP is being phased out. Until that is *prevented* rather than responded to, it is hard to "prove" much support from MS. I can assure you that if my reps were criticising something the company supports, it would not happen more than once. This has been going on for over half a decade now.
