>I wonder what's happening here. Is the improved US economy enabling more of (the remaining??) FoxPro developers to attend DevCon? Or is there a larger group of people who are going to convert their 2.6 app(s) and wanted to attend DevCon before taking the plunge? I guess we'll never know, but it is a strange statistic, don't you think?

I think the wait to convert most of the existants 2.6 apps is about to be over soon. Many companies were afraid of OOP programming and terminologies like framework. Also, Visual FoxPro 3 was the first version of Visual FoxPro to be OOP. Because of that, many companies preferred to invest in their actual apps instead of moving to OOP with the first release of Visual FoxPro. Also, it was difficult to find developers with OOP knowledge able to do RAD development in Visual FoxPro 2 years ago. Now, things are changing and companies are mostly ready to move to Visual FoxPro 5. Also, some of them who heard all kind of rumors were not sure about what to decide. Now, with the announcement of Visual FoxPro 6, they feel more ok to move to Visual FoxPro.

As I mentioned, I think it is a combination of various factors that make many companies to wake up and be ready for the 2000 turn.
