Yea Erik I have the visible set to .t.

the textboxes and graphic checkboxes look fine, the shapes, labels aren't shown but if I open "windows" window and drag it over the FoxPro window then the labels and shapes are show it's like a re-draw issue

FWIW, thisform.refresh does nothing more than fire the refresh methods of all contained controls, which do nothing more than set the value property using the controlsource. IOW, Refresh does nothing to change enabled or visible status.
