Just seems a bit wierd... get a form working correctly with buffering etc.
Then the boss tells you to change it... My first question would be why?

If the boss can justify a reason why (I mean a real justification not just 'because') then fine.

I suppose that's the difference between companies who have time (and money) to spare and those that don't. :(
