I'm a hundred percent behind message boards. Afterall were on one now. Your user group will need to be internet or user group literate otherwise they probably won't use it.

You might get into political problems if your boss doesn't want anyone to be able to count how many errors you have. This can be a problem in really big organizations (e.g. the US Department of Defense) with competing software products that do much the same thing.
