>One of our clients recently upgraded his server hardware including servers used to run W2000 Terminal Server. I do not have the exact configuration of the servers at hand but suffice it to say they have tons of memory and very fast multiple processors. Since that installation, we have been getting an inordinate amount of ERROR 1104 messages (Error Reading File), both within our application and when operating interactively.

I hope to give you the tip of the day immedeately ..

  • It implies nothing more (or less) than the lost of the connection to the data-server.

  • This may occur for any hardware-reason, however ...

  • When there are more users than licences, WTS (Citrix ?) will disconnect the necessary ones from the data-server. That is, without notice ...

  • Once Terminal Server is upgraded things go wrong with the licences. How this is exactly I don't know, but for sure if licenses are added afterwards you are in bad luck; reinstall WTS including all the licences.
I think, no hope, this is your problem.
