Thanks, Craig (and others) for help in locating the option pack. It didn't come up in a search on the Microsoft site but I guess that's not surprising since they really wants us to by Windows 2000! I'm glad to know it's still available.

Without trying your patience, I could use a bit of explanation as to how this architecture would work in this case. Since the technique explained in your article creates a DLL rather than an EXE, in what process does it run? Is the client the off site web server with the ASP page that needs the data or it's client, the user's machine with the browser? The only "application" I had planned to have on the workstation was the COM server whose job is to receive the parameters, query the Novell server and return a formatted data string. If we move this process to another machine haven't we lost the link with the data, or worse, created a big security hole? Security is their big concern; that's why the IT department nixed IIS in the first place.
