SET REFRESH takes two parameters. The second one is responsible for the local buffers. So a SET REFRESH TO 1,1 might work.

However, keep in mind that frequent refreshing loads the network and can lead to network performance problems. You might think of something else to notify the server app (Like DCOM or something)
