Barbara,
Win2k Pro is really running IIS (even though it says PWS). The PWS /stop pws /start commands only work with Win 98. To do the same in IIS, you could say "net stop w3svc" or "net start w3svc" from the command line. There's even a new command that does both in one step: iisreset.

>I'm running the PWS that comes with Win2k Pro, and long since realized that the manager won't stop/start it. However I tried PWS.EXE /Stop and it merely popped up the manager - no change in results. Did I misunderstand you or is there no choice but to reboot to clear out running DLLs?

>>Yes, PWS will accomplish this - it's available in the Win NT option Pak. Just remember to use the commands PWS /stop and PWS /start for stopping and starting. Pressing the Stop button in the manager will not fully stop the PWS web server..
