Rich,
Yes, a shape that mimics a button is just as good. You'll actually need TWO shapes - one for the static button and one for the 'clicked' button. Then create a class that displays the button and shape and handles left- right- and double-clicks and you're ready to roll.

I was looking for a way to do this through VFP (there's ALWAYS a way!), I'm just not sure how many hoops I'll have to jump through. I wonder if anyone has tried twiddling this stuff?
