I think the reason, as you say, that people are still complaining, is because it seems that the only people who have any idea what a wonderful tool VFP is are those who use it. Yet, all the time, I hear people who are in positions to make decisions on the selection of development tools (these people are not developers) tell me that VB-SQL is the only way to go. Oh yes, and what a wonderful tool Access is. It's enough to drive a man to drink - oh, wait - I already do enjoy a few wobbly pops from time to time - now I know the reason.
Back to the point though, how do all these non-developer decision makers know (relatively speaking) absolutely nothing about VFP and yet they seem to know all there is to know about VB-Access-SQL? Doesn't that just have to be related in some degree to the marketing of these products?
