IMO , at the end of the day it's the quality of the person using the tool, not the quality of the tool (though that does matter) that really matters. I, for one, have made the committment to use VFP to create a world-class application that will force those pointy-haired folks to pay attention.

HaHa! Good one Allan. But before you're done, maybe you'd go to a reputable IT jobs site (dice.com, for instance) and play around with some searches for "Visual FoxPro", "FoxPro", "VFP", etc. and compare it with Visual Basic, VB, C++, Java Developer, Focus, Cold Fusion, Delphi and even, if you dare, "Python". Jot down your results and then do this again when your six month fix gives out. Compare.

Those developers interested in employment are apt to 'wake up' and think that part of being a 'quality person' includes having a job. The concerns you've expressed will tend to bounce off independant developers for a while to come. (i.e. more Heratio Alger shit to be expected) Quick --- name a river in Eygpt!

So, let's say I'm VFP job-searching: "Any luck, dear?" "Not today, honey. But don't worry, I just told 'em they were pointy-headed and to grow up. So, maybe tomorrow..." Right!

Steven- :-)
