First add the fields to the data dictionary. then update from the data dictionary.
You may modify the sbt classes - don't touch the sy* classes. Updates are often a problem. They currently have a custom module that helps maintain changes. but all it does is subclass. The nice thing about the module is it helps with the variables.
Your best bet is to keep as much of the mods outside of SBT code. Either by direct replacement of a form or replacement of the module. I normally just recreate the form and make only a few minor changes to the calling programs. Pro 6 will check for the custom forms if you do it correctly. I haven't done this recently and believe it requires a flag set and an update of a dbf.
Version 6.5 is going to have many changes and is due out in Jul01.
