J,
>It's been awhile since I saw it...but my thoughts (which are partially related to my experience) is that people couldn't really relate to HIS experience - or he couldn't adequately describe it. Perhaps only conversing w/a volleyball for 4 years, he was a bit out of practice, conversation-wise.

I can go with the out of practice thing and we wouldn't want to make a big deal about talking to a volleyball, but, at the same time, if it were my friend I'd be making him feel comfortable about it. I'd be open about it and even intentionally bring it up so they'd feel more comfortable with it.

I'd also be running away from *more* crab legs. ;}

>Was funny, watching that movie from a tropical island...lots of laughs when he was trying to open the coconut!

I'm sure. And having tried to open a coconut and wondering how the hell anybody does it it was *very* enlightening. I didn't know that's how you did it. I always tried to just split the thing completely in two.
