>I am sure where ever there are people you will find technically handicapped individuals. Some end up as CEO's or janitors. Others go to work for .COM companies or McDonalds.

We seem to have had an unusually large influx of people lately. Some of these places are hiring people to use our software (primary job) who have *never* even used a computer before. The guy who handles the phones got a call from a woman the other day who didn't know what "Windows" meant. It's not like she was 90, she was 24 (and blonde I'm sure! < g > ).

>How about this event which occurred eight years ago, when floppies were popular. The latest greatest version of software was created at the company I worked for. I had suggested a disk copy machine to reduce labor and increase productivity. We created 500 sets of upgrades for our customers and then the disks went to the “Service Team”, who was responsible for packaging and mailing. Mail was sent overnight and customer complaints began the next day and lasted for two weeks. It seems that the “Team” used rubber bands – two big ones – to keep the ten disks together. In case you have not guessed, the one over the metal door of the floppy disk was a problem for disks number 1 and 10. It crushed the doors and ruined the two mentioned floppies.

People used to mail us a report of what was on the disk and sometimes it would be stapled to the 5.25. When we switched to 3.5 I thought we had that problem licked. Then one day we got a disk in that had used one of the large document staplers and it was right through the plastic and the door.

> Another company I worked for had many customers (hospitals) and produced their latest upgrade. They bought the cheapest pre formatted floppies they could find and did not test them. The disks were sent out on a Friday, and the following Monday morning I loaded the new version on my test machine and found “Stealth 3 Virus”. Glad I was a consultant at that company – I was not afraid to alert the director of software. I confirmed the new floppies were the source of the virus. That is not nice!

I was on the receiving end of that in like 89 or 90. Can't remember the company but as soon as I called they knew exactly what was the problem.
