I think this may be the ultimate test. If a person it into martial arts movies, they may be willing to sit through an iffy war one because they love the subject matter. Something like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is good enough that people who normally wouldn't see that type of movie can go and enjoy it.
But then again, the opposite can be true too. LOL!
