That is not for me to decide. It's decided by the attitude of the individual I'd suppose. Please don't be upset with me should you choose to take a certain approach.

Now.. If my definition is incorrect please help me to more closely define it, would you? I'd be delighted to so do if you think that's needed. I still think that there are some here who simply cannot bring themselves to 'feel' good about this most recent news (RTM of VFP7) because it'll spoil their milk, so to speak. Every step forward seems to me to be something to cheer and every non-step seems to me to be yet another challenge to overcome. Nowhere do I see a justification for a 'negative' attitude - even if MSFT were to close up shop completely. Why? Because I as the developer contain within myself the necessary skills to survive and my successes and failures are not dependent upon MSFT. Sure, they can make it easier or harder and I wish them to make things easier. We'd all be fools not to want that I'd suppose.

It just seems that some folks' successes and failures are dependent on others and that is a losing proposition IMO.

I wish some would really read mine - that's for sure. < s >

I am reminded of the classic 'Chicken Little' story or the one about 'The Little Red Hen' where no one wanted to help but they all wanted the goods afterwards.

John, I very much appreciate your pov and I also have stated that I'd like to see MSFT do more. Why is it do you think that people can't seem to understand I've said this? I think that they are somehow 'stuck' in their own presuppositions candidly. I'm just not of the nature to wring my hands over issues I have no control over. That doesn't make me unappreciative or unaware of those same issues. IMO and quite to the contrary I think my positive attitude places me at an advantage.
Best,

DD
