>>I'm quite content to be in the 'glass half full' camp, which BTW does not acxiomatically make me a MSFT shill, head-in-the-sand, boot licker or any of the other insinuated stereotypes.<<

Doug, find where I've called you (or anyone else) any of those. You can't. Come on, now.

>>It makes me a lot happier at times it seems <g> and perhaps I sleep better at night and I am excited about the future (even though I think man will destroy himself at some point - I still have hope).<<

Excited about the future? Me too! That doesn't stop my speaking out where I perceive problems... actually that is one of the duties of a citizen of a democracy as I recall. Speaking out makes for a more honest, appropriate future- even if the rest of the town disagrees with you.
Sorry you think man will destroy himself. That'll leave woman to carry the race forward... they might be quite pleased about that!

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
