I totally agree with you...
Craig, if you have ever worked with the latest Delphi or with JBuilder, you would see what Gerry is saying about two-way tools. One part of the tool is ALL text (wonderful, beautiful, standard, ever-portable, diff-able text) and the other is the visual representation of that text (if such a visual representation exists. It really is a wonderful thing.
Text works better for source control, for readability in all editors, and for cross-platformability (not that I think the Fox will ever run on Linux, but ya never know).
Opinions aside, it would have to be agreed that two-way tools using text-based files is an intriguing concept, and potentially more useful than a binary representation like VCX, SCX, etc, etc.
