Charlie,

PMFJI

As I go deeper in C/S apps, VFP is very flexible because you have a lot of methodology to choose from when it comes to manipulating data or getting a cursor. I use RVs/SPT when it comes to data presentation but I use ADO/SP when it comes to manipulating data. So depending on what you want to do with the data, each methodology have their own strength and place. You may have read my thread ADO vs SPT thing, ADO appears to be faster 300%up client/server side recordset than SPT.

>I didn't mean they had no value at all. I'm just saying the client side VFP cursor is more useful than a client side ADO recordset because the VFP cursor can be subclassed to add custom functionality. Switch to using ADO for data access and you might as well use VB because your giving up VFP's best feature.

CHARISMA simply means: "Be more concerned about making others feel good about themselves than you are in making them feel good about you."
