Bob;

I used DreamWeaver and ASP with VFP tables about 1 1/2 years ago. My take: Very interesting and gave professional looking web pages with many fine features.

My take on web development is define what your web site or page(s) are required to do and what look they should have. Then find the right tool for the job. Where I work we must use Visual Interdev 6.0 as it is our corporate stnadard. I never use the DTC's and write code to create all objects. VI has many negative features but I am paid to use it. My friends that use Homesite love it.

There is nothing that will replace experience with coding web pages - which even helps if you are using DreamWeaver. By the way - for those that are knowledgable you can write much tighter code than DreamWeaver. Your web pages will instantiate much faster - but baby - does it take time! Ha!

Perhaps in a few years we will have some truely professional tools for web development. I can get by just fine with Notepad to be honest. However, I must admit to liking the different colors VI gives for your coding pleasure!

Even a product like "Hot Dog" has it's place - if that is all you require.

Tom
