If you put the + and AND at the end of the line, there is nothing to tell you that the next line is a continuation if you are only scanning the beginning of the line. My way, you get that visual clue either way (beginning or end).

One thing I overlooked (that Larry pointed out) is the lack of indentation. I indent the continuation. I think that as far as placing the operator at the beginning or end of a line is simply a matter of style rather than substance. I think that a case can be made either way.
