>>I have a friend from Oklahoma, who told me he was raised on a farm and his family was poor. He said: “We always had food – milk, pork, beef, eggs, cream, cheese, and bacon.

>Yes, and they didn't sit around on their a**es all day pushing buttons. We could still eat like that if we exercised as a part of daily living.

>>Today we have a choice and in general we are taught what to eat by our parents. Our job is to learn what is good for us and develop good nutritional values. Not an easy task but important for our health and the health of our families!

>Lifestyles have changed drastically in the past 30 years. We sit around pointing remote controls at electronic boxes and such. We drive down to the end of the driveway to get the paper (or it's delivered to our computer). So... we need to eat salted green soy beans, tofu and drink soy "milk".
Curtis;
My father was raised on a horse ranch in NE Oregon, and walked a lot, besides riding horses. When he returned from WWII, I remember him driving his car 1/2 block to buy cigarettes. Like several times a week. There were three grocery stores within that distance from our house in San Francisco. Today, if you find a parking place anywhere in San Francisco, it is best to not move your car – ever! Funny thing – there are fewer people today in San Francisco than in the late 1940’s. Life changes and for that matter only one of the three grocery stores remains.
