I would go with a 1.2 Ghz Athlon or greater with at least a 40 gig HD and 256 or better yet 512 RAM - 133Mhz bus or greater. If you are getting a new monitor, get a 32 MB video card and at least 21 inch monitor - that way you can shrink down your resolution and maximize your development work area. You can easily get one of these systems for about $1000 (American) if you know where to look...

That should keep you happy through VFP7 for a few years.....
