Do "his CDs contain CD Text information " mean that there is a txt file with this information? If so, you can use filetostr()/strtofile() functions.

Having started looking at Visual Foxpro at work, a friend has asked if I can put together a database for his fairly extensive CD & LP collection. No real problems with that (I think, at least it'll be good experience if we decide to use it, as well as the advice I received, I thought I'd try a little practical experience of my own).

What he did ask for was that some of his CDs contain CD Text information - giving full details of the CD, he wondered whether it was possible to extract this information to save him keying in the details himself.

I've had a search throughout manuals & the internet, but have failed to come up with anything. I wondered if anyone here knew of any API calls or ActiveX's that would allow this information to be extracted.

I know this may be a little ambitious in Visual Foxpro, but I've had experience in VB & VC++, so (hopefully) it wont be too much of a challenge, if the functions are available.
