You've just caught me after playing with this (I find it helps to know about things that you may not even use - impresses prospective clients).

Have a look on www.cddb.com - you can download an SDK from there (need to register as a developer first - you can register as non-commercial for free).

Also, I have downloaded an ActiveX control from www.download.com (search on "cddb activex") - this allowed me to get the ID from the CD but then I'd have to connect to CDDB to get the info so it's probably best to go straight to the source for the SDK.

The testing I did was very simple so the SDK shouldn't be too big a deal.
