Sandi,
Make sure you have all of the latest service packs applied to VFP and VSS. I think it was the VS SP3 that significantly improved VSS performance.
But you will have to get used to projects not opening very fast anymore. You can use two projects one that is tied to VSS to checkin/checkout code, and one project that isn't tied to VSS. You can copy your VSS project and just set the Local column to T for the files to "remove" them from VSS.
>I just moved my sourcesafe databases from my local machine to my server (Win2000K). Now when I am in VFP6 on my local machine and Modify Project xxx, it takes forever to bring up the project. Is there some way I can speed this up? My machine is a Win98SE P3 800 (256 MB RAM) and the server is a Win2000K P2 450 (256 MB RAM). No one else uses sourcesafe and it was quick enough before the move. (The network is 100 BaseT using a switch). No other network issues.
