>Great! "Strong typing" is the keyword of the problem. But it solved in Visual Basic. In VB variable must be declared with "As type" clause to use strong typing. Otherwise (variable not declared or declared without of "As type") it assumes to be a variant type. And I have heard something about strong typing in dBase 7. If it possible to Borland, it may be possible to MS (excluding case of .NET, of course :)) ).

Yes, as he said before, Strong Typing in VFP is not impossible but it will break almost every VFP app ever written. Not an easy marketing decision, independent of the technical difficulties involved in creating a Strong Typed VFP. Is that what we want?
