ADO is the only way to connect via VFP. You can pass SELECT statements via ADO, but SPT cannot be used the way you're used to doing with ODBC drivers. I would highly recommend that you read JVP's ADO Jumpstart for VFP Devs to clear up some of the concepts you'll be working with while using ADO, OLE DB providers, and SQL Server.
