I installed IE40 yesterday as soon as I've got it in the mail. I didn't like it after playing with it for few hours and uninstalled it. I've got back my prior setting, including IE3.02, usual desktop, etc. and I don't seem to have any problems with my system. My system is setup to boot either DOS/Win3.1 or Win95. I guess I just got lucky! So far, so good.

It's "my" world. You're just living in it.
