>I just moved my sourcesafe databases from my local machine to my server (Win2000K). Now when I am in VFP6 on my local machine and Modify Project xxx, it takes forever to bring up the project. Is there some way I can speed this up? My machine is a Win98SE P3 800 (256 MB RAM) and the server is a Win2000K P2 450 (256 MB RAM). No one else uses sourcesafe and it was quick enough before the move. (The network is 100 BaseT using a switch). No other network issues.

One other tip would be to make sure you don't have the debug window open when you open a slow opening project. Opening the project will trigger scctext which seems to be slowed down in the development environment by the debug window.

BTW, has anyone really looked into scctext? (I haven't really) I've noticed that it takes a long time some times and doesn't always put my class methods in the same order from version to version, which makes comparing the versions difficult.
