The KB article actually says that if your dual-boot machine has both operating systems on the same logical drive it won't uninstall. Once again we are subject to typical Microsoft facism. "Install our product and we'll never let you go! Ooh wah ha ha ha ha (my attempt to emulate an evil laugh in text)." Well, I lucked out in that my OS's are one different drives. It uninstalled fine.
"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons." - Douglas Adams
