FIGMO = F*** it I've Got My Orders. When you got your orders to report to a new duty station, you were FIGMO. Not responsible for anything (ha). Now, if you screwed up and did something like "miss a dental appointment" before checking out of a duty station, you would get "Red Lined" (orders canceled). A lot of guys did that to get out of going to Viet Nam in 1965 I recall. They would get two weeks of extra duty (Article 15 it was called - cut the grass, etc.) and it would not go on their record. Things got a bit more serious when more bodies were need. Article 15 was no longer an excuse to not be shipped out.
