Have you tried booting from the Win2k CD? From the CD you should eb able to choose the Emergency Recovery Console (or something to that effect).. From that menu there are a few things available for you to do. One of them is rebuilding/restoring the boot sector or MBR, I can't remember exactly at this point (It's been a year since I've seen the console).
I read through Cetin's posts as well.. Does your bios display any information when your computer boots up? I know that on many retail boards form ASUS/Abit, etc. that use an American Megatrends bios or Phoenix will show a lot of information such as the amount of RAM, ports, etc. The HD information is also included in the screen. If it's shown there, then the bios IS able to access the disks..
Do your harddrives spin up? Do you hear HD activity when it tries to boot from the HD?
There recall hearing about other cuases for this message though i cannot remember specifics right now.
