This morning my computer (NT4.0) was behaving strangely. I could not access my development web site on this machine, and things were slow on the Internet. IIS was turned off and could not be turned on. That explained the inability to access my web site. I asked the programmer who sits in the cubical next to me to take a look. He said he just had a similar problem with his server and had called our IT department who supplied anti virus software. I applied the software and all is well.


We have no idea how this got into our machines as we have firewalls, etc. to "protect" us. One suggestion I just found about this virus was to reformat your harddisk.

With time things will get worse. At home I have gone to two networks - one for web based machines and the other for desktops. Next the virus will be spread via the AC power input. Well, perhaps not too quickly - but leave it up to a 14 yer old how to figure it out and it will happen.
