AFAIK, the service packs for MS products are still free. It sound like they are trying to sell a MS TechNet Subscription. See http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/subscriptions/howtopurch/subscribe.asp. And again I don't think that $200 would allow you to upgrade to VFP 8.0 later on.
