mmm... You'd better read the complaint filed with the FTC, which details the misdirection MS is using to sneak folks onto Passport.

BTW, if you don't register your product you cannot get support. If you want support you must create a passport account and supply personal info. To say PA is completely anomynous is to say "no support". One can't simply call during the free support period and say "I've got this problem, what do I do" without being asked to identify oneself. Catch-22.

Actually, they do. Most do not realize it but when they sign up for Hotmail accounts they have signed onto Passport.
