Installation, Setup and Configuration
I installed a VFP7 app today, and when I ran it, I got the error, VFP support library not found, or whatever, right? Well, first of all, I ran the install. Second of all, usually when VFP7 apps run without the run time, you'll get a message about MSVCR*.dll not being registerd.
What happened was, I installed it on 2000 as Administrator, but ran it as someone else. The user had rights to it, but the VFP7 dlls weren't registered.
I ran:
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\vfp\vfp7r.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\vfp\vfp7renu.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\vfp\vfp7t.dll"
from teh command prompt while logged in as the other user, and then the app popped up.
Everyone else seeing this? Why does registering DLLs only register it for teh current user, and when will the VFP7 merge module get fixed so I don't have to do this?
