install files ;). Installshield relies on Windows Installer. Windows Installer doesn't install files that already exist if the modified date is later than the creation date. This means any file that has been updated on the users machine will not be overwritten by the file I want to install. The documentation says that this is done by the Windows Installer to preserve user preference files, but in fact this is very limiting to us if we (for whatever reason and we have em) juz want to write over some data files.
Please explain how this is a bad thing. "Hey, the user modified their general ledger files after they installed. Let's overwrite them!" You'd have a hard time convincing me that the old setup wizard behavior is correct or desired.
