It's now open source, and the download is amazingly small for a database server. Plus, we are starting to use Cobalt network appliance boxes for things like web servers and such, and they come with a copy of InterBase already installed. The upside I found so far is that it is easy to install and configure, and it runs on a lot of platforms. The downside is that I had to try three different ODBC drivers before I found one that actually worked with VFP. Two others would work under Access or in MS Query but gave errors in VFP, third time was the charm. The one that works is Gemini.
I haven't built an actually app yet, I was just wondering if anyone else has attempted it already and if it works well or isn't worth the time.
