George,
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same editor. I'm using IconEdit Pro 7.01 (http://www.iconedit.com/) and this editor can resize icons. The problem is that it can't save two formats into one file, at least I haven't figured out a way to do it. What I'm doing right now is the following:

1. create the icon in IconEdit Pro as 32x32
2. resize the same icon as 16x16
3. copy&paste both icons from IconEdit Pro into ImageEdit in order to create an icon file with both formats

BTW, do you know from where comes the fox head? When you look at an EXE that has been compiled with a custom icon, there's no fox icon in it.

FWIW, the behaviour I mentioned also applies to VFP7 :(

Instead of my own icon, the fox head appeared. When I used one of the icons that shipped with VFP, everything worked ok. But when I opened the same icon with IconEdit Pro and saved it without having made any modifications, the icon didn't show-up anymore in explorer. I found the same information you and Sergej suggested to Randall on the Net. What I find strange is that the icon on its own shows-up in explorer. Is this an issue with VFP?

>>Once I knew that the icon must contain both formats (32x32 and 16x16), I tried to create such an icon with IconEdit Pro. However, I found no way of doing this. The only way I got this to work was by using the very old icon editor that shipped with VFP5 (Imagedit.exe). I found many references on the internet, but no place to download it. I had to restore an old backup to get this editor back. How do you guys create your icons. Am I missing something?
