>>>We have built a java script menu that basically uses DIV tags to build the menu in VB Script. We noticed that List Box controls actually display over the menu. We tried a simple page with the a div tag an a list box with the same results.

>>I would suggest trying to add absolute positioning to your select tag (I call combo box) to place it within the Div tags where you want it.

>>By the way when I talked to you about a year ago about my cousin Dan Cummings, and then saw Mike Cummings at your company that blew my mind! Dan's older brother is named Mike also. Then when Mike at your company answered my e-mail and said you two were not related but you had a brother Mike, I laughed my head off. After telling my mother she also had a good laugh.

>LOL. What are their parents names?

Francis William Cummings and Barbara Cummings. My mother was once a Cummings (Constance) but now she is a Whiteley. Funny how those things happen. I told Mike at your company my grandfather Francis Leslie Cummings, was raised on his grandparents dairy ranch in San Francisco. I am named after his father Thomas Cummings.

>BTW, I tried to use absolute positioning and used a simple text box and it works fine but with a Select, it fails every time. It looks like it may be a bug.

There is something about the Select object that is strange. I have used so many of them. Refreshing data in the Windows_OnLoad is something I have to do. I also table drive them which is easier to fill and change data. One thing I cannot control is the width of the cbo. If the data is longer that the selected width it just "grows" the cbo to the required width. So layout of objects is important. I have some complex forms in one app (about 60) with 50 to 100 objects on them. Thank God it is an Intranet Application!

Can you give me an example of your select code? Try it in the preview first before you send it. I will see if there is anything I can advise you on.

Now, how about a cbo with multiple columns using a select object? I am waiting for that. Some "experts" have told me that you can do "anything" with a web app that you can do with a desktop app. Ha - Ha - Ha!!! I am making a list of what cannot be done - and it hurts! When you streatch the envelope of technology you pay the price.

It just goes back to use the right tool (and technology - platform) if you want success.
