>>I have a database that contains one view that is based on two free tables. Everything works fine initially, and then when I open the database, modify the database, and then modify the view, I get an Open Window indicating that there are no tables in the Database. Why do I keep losing the free table references?

>I am confused as to your problem. No references to free tables are contained in the DBC. Are you saying you are losing tables from the DBC that were in the database? My guess as to why you get the Open dialogue is that the free tables that compose the view can not be found along the VFP search path. The path to these free tables are not maintained in the view definition.

They should be, but GenDBC doesn't insert any paths, nor does the VD. It always gives you just the ...FROM {table} without any path specifier. This can be edited manually in the Gendbc generated program - with my recommendation to use relative paths.
