>I got on a flight Friday - one day later than originally booked. Well sort of. I was supposed to take a plane to Minneapolis, then to Memphis at 3:35 pm but it got delayed until 5:30, then 6:30. Then they announced the flight crew wouldn't be in until 9:00 pm and the flight would leave at 9:45. I knew there was a direct flight to Memphis at 6:30 so I approached the gate counter and asked if they had one vacancy. It turned out half the plane was empty. What a crock! They could have told the people at the other gate and I'm sure moved a bunch more people. Oh well! They also seized the wire clippers from my guitar case. I guess they could be considered lethal!

I finally got a flight on Sunday, after two flights were cancelled. I decided to go standby up to LA and jump a flight to Newark. Turns out the flights were practically empty because nobody wanted to get on an airplane. My only dilemma was if Newark airport would remain open long enough to land the plane. The security at the airport wasn't as thorough as I thought it would be. I don't believe these people have adequate training.
