Since they are YOUR apps, then you probably know where the bottlenecks are. To get the best price/performance ratio, you should know where to skimp and where to spend. <g>

In VFP apps, the typical bottlenecks are:
1) RAM (especially if they run several apps simultaneously)
2) Hard drive speed
3) Network speed, including NIC cards, cabling, server performance, etc.
4) CPU speed

I would say that all new computers are quite capable of running the types of business applications we write in VFP. I'd recommend opting for a 7200 RPM hard drive over the 5400 RPM units - small price increase, but decent performance boost. RAM is cheap now, so don't skimp there.

I highly recommend upgrading the cheapo monitor to one with a "flat sqare" tube. While not truly a "performance" recommendation, a sorry monitor causes fatigue, and users will work more comfortably and with fewer errors if the screen is glare-free and sharp. And productivity is the goal, not raw performance.

No need for high-end video cards, unless you're doing some 3D work, animation, etc. For end-user machines, the integrated (on motherboard) video is quite adequate.

You probably already know these things, but just in case... <g>
