I, too, was watching him at the time when he said this. I had exactly the same take on what he said and thought it most inappropriate and an attempt at a backhanded slight toward the President. My view of this was formed at the time he said as I was watching him say it. I also don't believe for a minute he is sincerely sorry for saying it either. I do believe he is sorry for getting called out for saying it. He, Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw are the primary reason I watch Fox News.
